"We had a great experience working
with Kathy Rogers at Sogno Design Group. I must admit that
when I started the process of a home remodel I wondered, "What
could an architect do for our remodel that an experienced contractor
couldn't"? By
the end of the project, I got it. I still to this day don't
really know how Kathy got such a functional and beautiful bathroom
into such a small space on our second floor. But she did. She
also made a couple changes to the design of the stairs leading
to our second floor that turned it from something that felt like
just a stairway to now something that feels more like a ... cathedral
(I know that sounds odd but trust me it's good). She raised
the ceiling as far as it could go (all the way to the peak of the
roofline) and added a second window that lets additional light
cascade down onto the stairs. Small tweaks - huge difference.
For our remodel, we worked with the experienced team of Kathy
and Beth Quade at Broad Construction. They'd worked together
before, and it showed. There were none of the small, but
critical and often costly, miscommunications between the two that
I've heard other friends describe from their remodels. They
were in touch constantly and clearly worked together very effectively. Beth
put the superb craftsmanship into the vision that Kathy put down
on paper. A few of my picky relatives living in old homes
on the East Coast marveled at the quality of the details that Beth
fashioned. She and Kathy really maintained the integrity
of a Craftsman home and clearly delivered quality work.
All in all, a great experience. I'd recommend Sogno Design
Group highly."

"Kathy Rogers of Sogno
Design Group is easy to work with, prioritizes green construction
(and walks the walk by doing the same on her own home), conscious
of limited budgets like ours, and has beautiful ideas/visions/plans.
The remodel she planned for us transformed our home into a much
more livable space and she was quite helpful in details such
as choosing bathroom tiles and giving us flooring suggestions. She
worked quite well with the contractor we hired, and communicated
with both us and him very effectively. As a mom, she understands
the practical aspects of planning. As a former carpenter, she
understands a lot about construction. "

"Kathy Rogers assisted us with a
remodel a few years ago and we are thrilled with her help (we
had been previously working with an architect who was a nightmare
insisting on making our house look like a spaceship!). One
of the main things we wanted was a design that was beautiful
but also kid-friendly. She
is a mom herself and was able to come up with some suggestions,
for flooring, etc. that could hold up to the kind of kid traffic
we experience but still look cool. She is not the type of
person who tries to pressure you into the most expensive materials.
She gets to know you and makes suggestions based on what she thinks
would work for your family. She is also an expert on green design.
She helped us create a beautiful deck done in terracotta and Mexican
tiles that is jaw-droppingly beautiful and has transformed our
yard!"

"We appreciate Kathy’s design for
the bathroom + all the advice she and her associates provided
along the way. As a result the bathroom is truly gorgeous! We are
so happy we hired Sogno!"

"We had a
fantastic experience working with architect Kathy Rogers of Sogno
Design
Group over the last year and a half. We just finished
a large scale remodel of our
home in Berkeley and we are absolutely delighted with the results.
Kathy really listened to our needs and came up with very creative
ways to
make use of a lot of wasted space in our home, which had been
badly remodeled in the
1980's. We now feel that our home is not only beautiful
and functional but
also very ''family-friendly''. She made suggestions about
green building materials and
systems- some of which we were able to do now and some which
have been master-planned for the future. We feel she was very sensitive
to our budget-she
helped us sort out which items to spend more on and which items
to walk away
from. For example, we found a very expensive mosaic tile that
we wanted to use in
our master bathroom. Kathy was able to recreate the same design
using a much
less expensive tile. It looks gorgeous!
Her office staff
is also outstanding. When
we had smaller questions and
details to sort out, her staff was always available to help
us do problem solving and
regularly came up with very creative solutions.
Kathy really understands construction and the permitting process
and worked
very closely with our contractor, Beth Quade, of Broad Construction,
whom she had
recommended. We truly cannot imagine having been in better
hands than with the
two of them."
